Practicing within the ERICMA

The members of the ERICMA meet together and share their knowledge. They benefit from the attendance of M. Patrick Cassam-Chenaï , one of the founders of the organization, Research officer of the french national center for scientific research (CNRS), who has studied the 7-star praying mantis fighting art (Qixing Tanglang Quan) under Master Tsui Wing Sing and who is a disciple of Master Wang Yuan Qian from the taiji praying mantis fighting art branch (TaijiTanglang Quan).

All traditional fighting styles may be studied within the organization, however the practice is centered around the conservation of the Taiji Tanglang Quan of the  Wang family (as transmitted by  Wang Yushan):

The sessions generally include basic training (jibengong),

Practice of the basic stances.

body conditioning and health improving exercises (kaoda, paidagong, qigong),

Paidagong under the supervision of Master Wang Yuan Qian, invited in France by the ERICMA.

The practice of fighting technics.
This last section emphasizes bare hand fighting, however many traditional weapons are also practiced including double edge swords (simple, double, one and two hand hold), sabers (simple, double, one and two hand hold), staff (simple, 2 sections "shaozi", 3 sections "sanjiegun"), spear ("daqiang", "huaqiang"), hooks, spring and automn halberd, double ringed knives, double hammers, ...
